Whether you are a Camper or a Tentrr host, we want to help you know how to operate and troubleshoot the propane heater!
First, make sure that the hose is securely connected from the heater to the propane tank.
Next, turn the propane tank on all the way. After that, you will want to move the heater from “off” to “pilot”. Hold the “pilot” down for 10-30 seconds to let the gas come through and push the ignite button.
If it does not ignite, repeat the steps.
You can also straighten out the hose line and move the propane tank to make sure there is no air in the line. Having air in the line can be one of the biggest obstacles when trying to successfully start the propane heater.
*Please note that if a spark does not appear at all, you may need to replace the battery in the Portable Buddy Heater or Dyna-Glo Heaters. The HearthSense does not utilize batteries for ignition.
Once you have the heater lit, please turn the heater to “low”. This will allow you to have enough warmth and propane for a weekend reservation. If the heater is too high it may cause you to run out of propane early.
Attached is also a video showing how to use the heater. Please note that we have multiple heater models in the field, and while your heater model may vary, the steps remain the same.
In case you want to refer to one of the manuals for troubleshooting, please refer to the corresponding manual:
Portable Buddy Radiant Heater (Manual)
HearthSense (Manual)
Dyna-Glo Vent Free Blue Flame (Manual)
Dyna-Glo Vent Free Infrared (Manual)
If you have tried these troubleshooting issues and still cannot get your heater to work please fill out a Maintenance Ticket if you are a host, and our team will be in touch shortly.
